Chivas sought to connect with ambitious Japanese entrepreneurs, chasing for success beyond traditional paths. We reframed “unconventional” from uncertainty to strength with the idea Unconventional Wisdom from Unconventional Success Stories - a campaign anchored by The Regal Pioneers Masterclass, where up and coming entrepreneurs learnt from modern trailblazers.
Creative Focus
To create an approachable, personal feeling that expresses community as oppose to something overly aspirational & out of reach. Authenticity with a touch of attitude.
Challenges
The footage captured during production, while solid, didn't carry the raw energy that social media demands. On top of that, the source material was a lengthy masterclass format. Rich in content but far too dense to land effectively on fast-moving social platforms. The work needed to feel punchy, relevant, and alive without losing the substance of what was being said.
Solution
To bridge the gap between the footage and the energy the campaign needed, I developed a distinctive animation style built around collage aesthetics and dynamic match cuts. This approach injected momentum and personality into the content, transforming long-form masterclass material into bite-sized, high-impact social assets that felt both inspiring and culturally sharp
Role
I led the creative direction for the animation across a regional team spanning Singapore and Indonesia, guiding them to craft the animation with balanced inspiration with education. My focus was ensuring every piece reflected the unconventional ambition at the heart of the campaign giving the team a clear creative north star.
